Being able to read books and to complete classwork comfortably allows student to have positive associations with school and learning. Sometimes school is the only place that many of my students feel safe. A lamp and nice clean rug to lay on as they work and the storage unit to keep the books that they're actively reading, support a feeling of autonomy and self worth. One area that we are stressing this school year is acquiring a growth mindset. If having a cozy clean spot to work helps to support eliminating a fixed mindset, that is a small price to pay for progress.

About my class
