When I unpacked my first grade classroom at my new school, something was missing....the books! Help me stock my first grade classroom library with high-quality texts that will engage readers with books they can read! When I told a colleague that I planned to have students read every day for 30 minutes, she said, "How will you keep them reading for so long?" The answer is easy (but hard to fund!). When classroom libraries are filled with great books that students can read, they spend more time reading. We know that reading growth is directly linked to time spent reading (real) books!
