These materials will enhance student learning in a variety of ways! The books I've chosen feature characters that are traditionally underrepresented in children's literature, which will help expand my children's understanding of who can be the hero in a story. The scientific equipment I've listed here will help my students to collect, observe, and document natural phenomena in much more detail and with much more precision. Bean bags and canopies will be added to my Meditation Center so that children can have a comfy, relaxing spot to self-regulate and calm down when they're feeling overwhelmed. As a first year public school teacher, I've chosen a variety of materials to help furnish my classroom. There's no single goal with this project. I simply want to get enough supplies so that my students have plenty of opportunities for meaningful learning. Books and science equipment are my greatest needs at the moment, so they represent the vast majority of the items I've included in this project!
