This year my students will be learning about Greek mythology in order to answer the questions, how does history affect the present and what evidence can we find today? Our mythology unit will consist of learning about both Greek and Roman gods and goddesses, stories of heroes and the hero's journey, followed by a novel study on Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. By the end of the unit they will be able to identify how learning from the past can help shape the future, and the different symbols that can still be found in today's society. After, they will be creating their own hero stories for our narrative unit.

About my class
