At the beginning of the school year, our classroom printer stopped working. I reported it to administration and they said they did not have any extras. This unexpectedly affected my students in ways I didn't anticipate. I am unable to print students' work samples, essays, and worksheets when our school's main printer is down. Therefore, I struggle with getting all my materials together in a timely manner. It would be so helpful to me to be able to use a printer in my classroom! My students love to research and write about places and things they have never seen. They love to create stories and adventures. They like being able to use the computer to type their finished projects. They love to enhance their stories with colorful images. However, we have to wait until I get home so I can print the student work they send me so we can display their work in the classroom, on our bulletin boards in the hallway, or to send home with families. Sharing their finished projects with their families gives them immense happiness. I am requesting a printer that my students and I will be able to have instant access to publish our work.
