Restorative practice and STEM Centers have enhanced my class community and helped my students grow academically and socially. At this time the area in which we have our circles for restorative practice is very outdated and not child friendly. Also, I have been able to create many STEM based activities, but none as engaging as the ones I have requested. The materials I am asking for would help my students learn to feel safe to make and grow from their mistakes. These materials will help to establish our classroom community and an enriched learning environment. The foam mat floor tiles will add a brightly colored area for restorative practice students where students will feel more welcome and comfortable to share their thoughts. The marble run set and zozoplay straw constructor STEM building toys will require students to develop and use a variety of building and engineering skills. The additional materials I have requested will be to increase team building and problem solving during STEM centers. Both of these times of day are vital to the growth and development of their kindergarten minds!
