The idea behind this project is to make my room aesthetically pleasing to my students to make them feel more cozy and comfortable when in my class. It is my belief that a nice looking classroom helps put kids at ease and makes it easier for them to learn. Reading is sometimes hard for kids to get into. I want to make a cozy reading corner in my class to encourage kids to want to read because they will be able to get to sit on the rug or a beanbag chair with a blanket and not in their seat. I think that it can be hard to focus and read if you are uncomfortable, especially for some kids that already do not like to read. I'm hoping that the upgrades to my classroom will help move kids forward in their academics by allowing movement and flexible seating, labels and easy to spot information on bulletin boards and all-around cozy, loving environment. Making my room safe and loving learning experience.
