As a first year teacher, I currently have a limited classroom library. With this new library, my students will be able to choose from a variety of high interest books that promote independent reading. In my classroom, the classroom library is a place students want to go to sit and read, complete work and collaborate with other students. I also encourage students to partner read with their books. Books are displayed so students are able to easily see the their covers. Students always treat the books with respect. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create.
