My students are 21 energetic students who come to school each day excited and ready to learn. Our district is made up of 44 schools, 35 of which are elementary schools. 97% of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. I have 11 ELL students and some of them have just started learning English this year. While my students enjoy all subjects, math is definitely their favorite. My students learn best when they can use manipulatives to actually see the problem. They enjoy collaborating with each other on assignments that are difficult. They face challenges with determination and perseverance. Since the beginning of the year, my students have gained the confidence to know that learning math takes many attempts, and failure is ok.
