These materials will serve as the foundation for the masterpieces my students create. They will study and use some of her works to duplicate in their own creative style. We will display these at the exhibit and online for you to see! The students will have hands on information through literature that will help them create Frida Kahlo inspired portraits. They will also have a deeper and more meaningful and tangible explanation of her significance. Each student will use a canvas to finalize the initial drawing of their Kahlo inspired art work. They will describe their picture in Spanish and label it with a Spanish name. This will serve to combine the language and culture with art. As many as a hundred students will use the materials to learn more about the significance of one woman who impacted the world. It is my hope that each student will strive to make a lasting impact in our world and together we can make this a reality and possibility for them.
