During small groups my students choose locations that will work for them. Without flexible seating my students are sitting on the floor, using clip boards or writing on top of books. Making sure that each and everyone of my students are comfortable is one of the key components in motivating them. By giving my students several options of seating, I believe they will make better choices, stay engaged and complete their work. Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work for them. When my students are offered different ways of doing something out of our daily classroom routine, they seem to stay focused and engaged.
