This past summer I was fortunate enough to attend the Columbia University Teachers College to receive amazing professional development on developing a strong readers workshop model (TCRWP). A big component of this model involves creating a defined space within the classroom environment where students can gather together to learn new skills and discuss their reading insights with peers. To create this defined learning space for my students to engage in becoming stronger, more engaged readers, I would love to have a cozy area rug where all of my students can gather for reader's workshop each day. By funding this project, you will be helping me create a classroom culture that supports growing readers!
