In Kindergarten a lot of learning happens together on the carpet. On the carpet is where we come together for our read alouds, interactive writing, collaborative science exploration, stretching breaks, games, puzzles, and endless other activities. It is the gathering center of our classroom. Students sit side by side and are to listen to and interact with each other. We have had the same carpet for ten years, and is small, quite worn and does not get as clean as it used to. I would really love to provide my students with a clean, fresh and vibrant space where they can gather comfortably with their classmates for fun, engaging learning.
