Our students need to complete 45 minutes a week in a program called I-Ready for both reading and math. The goal of I-ready is to provide individualized learning that helps address the needs of each student, challenge them, and help fill in any gaps in their education. Studies have shown that with 45 minutes a week of I-Ready students show growth towards their individual learning goals. Most of my students are reading well below grade-level. Headphones will give students a better opportunity to focus on their individualized instruction. I-Ready gives directions to students aloud. It gets really loud in the classroom with 19 students trying to listen to directions when all other students are receiving different directions. It helps me get the most out of I-Ready if they are able to have headphones and listen to directions without having to fight through the noise.
