The books I have in my room currently are not very diverse and really do not spark much interest from my students. Since my students are just learning English, some of the books I chose are written in Spanish and English to help guide their vocabulary development. Others are written in just English, but about high-interest topics and people they can relate to. I looked through highly recommended multicultural book lists to pick these books out. Some I read with students last year remotely, and they were a hit, so I am excited to get these books physically into my students' hands this year!
