The area is a place for students to take time to practice those strategies that work for them during difficult times. It assists students to utilize several strategies to improve social and emotional skills throughout the school day. The designated area is a place where students can take a break when they feel overwhelmed and help to keep emotions in check. The following materials in the area include: comfortable seating, carpet, pillows, etc., which will equip them with strategies to calm down before things get out of control in the school environment and will be extremely valuable.
