Recess is my students favorite part of our day. This is their chance to run around, socialize, or use their imagination. Living in South Mississippi, you never know what they weather will be. Sometimes we have recess outside and sometimes we are inside depending on the weather and heat index. Usually for inside recess, we watch movies or play on the computers but this can get really boring. Recess play teaches cooperative learning and teamwork which are crucial to the classroom environment. My students need engaging activities to do while stuck inside. I am requesting board games, card games, and other fun activities to make indoor recess an active and productive break. All my students will be able to use these resources during indoor recess instead of playing computer games. These games will promote active play and problem solving which will help students continue to improve their skills, even during recess!
