One very important factor in school success is staying organized. First grade is a time when students show tremendous growth in all subject areas. As a teacher I need to seize every moment I have with them. From the first day of school, I teach my diverse learners skills to help them utilize the time they have in school. My first grade students are learning to be responsible for their own materials. The At-Your-Seat-Storage Sacks will help students learn to stay organized and minimize time wasted looking for lost reading/writing and math materials. A comfortable clean carpet that fits all 28 students will provide a space for students to work and collaborate with other students. The student mailbox will create a place for students to find their "own" personal items. The mailbox creates an ownership of their own materials and a responsibility to empty and fill each day. As a first grade teacher, it is my goal to instill a love of learning that lasts a lifetime and these items will help to achieve my goal.
