My students love to play the barred instruments, but we only have one complete soprano glockenspiel (the other one looks like it is 40 years old and is missing bars). Washington is an old school and the instruments have been used by thousands of students. I cleaned several instruments over the summer which helped, but I couldn't do anything about the missing bars. The students line up to play the barred instruments, but few get an opportunity to play the glockenspiels because of this limitation. A new glockenspiel would brighten their day and make it possible for more to learn correct mallet technique and the joy of playing ensemble pieces on the soprano glockenspiel.
