Our school has several on line apps that we use with iPad tablets and Chromebook computers. The students are engaged in these several times a day, in groups, while I work with other groups or one on one. If they don't have headphones, the volume becomes cacophonous and nobody is able to concentrate. At the beginning of the year I ask for them to bring a pair from home, but they either can't, or they bring them but the headphones aren't the best quality, and break. It is virtually impossible to teach them to listen to the directions when they can't hear the directions clearly. By having quality headphones available, my students will be able to be successful in their online work, which will enable their fellow students working with me the opportunity to be successful because they, too will be able to hear my directions/teaching clearly!
