Most of my students have an IEP with four different transition goals that will help them learn how to be independent adults! As the pandemic hit, there have been many different challenges our classroom has faced, such as not being able to get out into our community as often as we'd like. Since we are not able to get out into the community to learn as often, items such as the headphones will help students be able to listen and focus on their own independent math and reading lessons online. The wardrobe will give my students a place to practice folding, hanging, and putting away all of the clothes we use to do our laundry goals. And items such as the can opener, hot plate, and cookbook will allow my students to read and follow recipes during our cooking groups. All items selected will go towards facilitating these goals in the classroom, and making sure they have all of the resources to practice these day-to-day life skills. These skills are crucial for my students to practice and develop so that they may be successful throughout their lifetime!
