In just a few short weeks, I will begin teaching preKindergarten in Baltimore City. I will be responsible for 20 preschoolers at a Title I school. I can't wait meet my students and their families. One of the biggest hurdles that students in our high-need school face is a lack of the necessary materials that are needed daily. It makes it infinitely more difficult for students to take part in activities and classwork when they do not have basic supplies. To get the year started off right, I have placed some necessary items to ensure my students may succeed and thrive in their year with me. I will use the new printer to print out materials for my students to use. For example, I would like to print out math mats so my students can use hands-on ways to learn math. I would like to purchase STEM materials to increase my students' interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. The composition books purchased will be given to each student to encourage writing throughout the year as well as illustrating for those who may not be writing yet. The snacks I will be purchasing will go towards providing snacks to my students the first few weeks, until parents can send a snack to school. Thank you so much in advance for supporting me and my students at the beginning of this exciting journey. Every item purchased will directly benefit twenty four year olds. I want to make a great impression and a lasting impact on my first group of students and letting them know that they have a community that supports them both near and far will definitely get us on the right track. THANK YOU!
