Our school district is big on independent reading. Students need to want to love to read, since the expectations for reading are very high. We want to create a learning environment where students feel safe, motivated to learn, welcomed and loved. Our goal this year is to transform our leveled classroom library into a welcoming “living room” so students can use their independent reading time slot to get comfortable and allow themselves to go on new adventures through books. Our classroom is missing a clean, welcoming rug in the library and we feel every cozy living room needs comfortable seating, fluffy pillows and of course a clean welcoming rug.
