Sewing is a rare skill that isn't seen often these days. Students will be able to show off their hard earned skills by making pillowcases and pajama pants. They are so proud to take their projects home and show their families that they were able to make the useable items all on their own. Both boys and girls are walking away with a valuable skill for their community because many have to make their traditional Native American ceremonial clothes by hand. With this project the students are able to learn the skills needed to carry on their traditions. They are learning life skills that many don't have the opportunity to gain any more.

About my class
