By providing these leveled magazines for my students, you will be providing them with a primary source to research current events while also learning necessary skills. Too often, middle schoolers of all abilities research things online only, instead of using print sources, therefore they only get half of the information available to them. Researching current events in print sources will help my students become global citizens instead of just West Virginians, while also allowing them to expand their skills to prepare them for college or careers. I want to foster a love of current events and print sources in my students, and these magazines are the best way to do that!
