When my first grade students walk into my classroom for the first time, I know that I am the one who will need to model and inspire and excite their little minds. I know that I will need to show them that I have a love to read in order for them to be inspired and excited to learn. By immersing my classroom in a print rich environment with a wide variety of books that are centered around the interests of my students, my chances of hooking them on the beautiful and powerful gift of reading increases immensely. Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is a perfect way to build better readers who love to read.

About my class
