I teach at an inner-city school where the core subjects tend to take lead in priority. Elective class sizes are very large, making it hard to give each student individual attention. With limited resources, it is very difficult to engage all students in the target language and track their growth. By getting headset donations, we will be able to track progress throughout the year and students will be able to reflect on their personal level goals. Headsets are imperative when you are teaching large classroom sizes because it gives students a chance to see their progression. Our textbooks are great for learning grammar and writing structures, but we need to practice using our target language orally in order to be successful. Headsets will allow my students to practice speaking and will allow them to hear themselves. This will help us both evaluate their current level and assess their progression.
