We will be making reusable grocery shopping bags, dog beds, and angel gowns. Students will be learning about sustainability and carbon foot print while learning to sew. All the scraps from our class projects will go into creating dog beds for the local animal shelter. We will be making reusable grocery shopping bags for our STEM event in October from gently used T-shirts. Students will conduct research on the effects of plastic bags used in the retail industry. Students will present their research and pass out shopping bags to the community at the STEM event. The final project will be the creation of Angel gowns from donated wedding dresses. Members of the community donate wedding gowns and students take them apart to make the Angel gowns.
