All of my students want to show their parents how well they can read, however, not all parents can sit and read or help their child with words when listening to them read. By supplying Spanish versions of well-loved books in our classroom library, students of non-English speaking or reading parents can enjoy reading along with their child home. We have an awesome network of ELL teachers and support staff at school, but I want to help my students grow that support at home as well. By adding this layer of Spanish version books along with the higher-level reading materials for the English speaking students, my library will be a resource for all students in my classroom to help build and expand their vocabulary. With the extra addition to the lovely blue reading rug to our reading center, students will be able to relax and enjoy a great reading experience during our Read for Fun time.
