My students and I are in a science/social studies classroom with virtually no resources. We need the basics in order to connect with the curriculum in the most meaningful way possible. Models for the Solar System unit, measuring tools, magnets, mini-telescopes, even an interactive globe to use for both subjects would be great additions. We will be able to build once we get the foundation. My students deserve to have a classroom with the basic items they need to experiment, explore, and discover the content in a way that is authentic and engaging. They can think outside the box, but I want them to fill the box (their minds) with basic knowledge first. Research says that students learn better in activities that require them to use their hands as well as their minds. Help me give my students the opportunity to be engaged in their lesson in the most effective way possible.
