The Special Needs classroom teaches a food science class to help our students learn to pick healthy food options, shop for the items and then prepare them at school (we want this to become that skill they do at home as well). It can be as simple as making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich independently. We are always working toward making our students as independent as possible as some of our students will never live on their own. It is an important life skill to help their care givers as much as possible. The Complete Food Kit Replica will be a great visual example for the students in the room.
