Imagine the excitement of my students walking into art class with the windows darkened, purple lights shining, and paints glowing in the dark. My students are most engaged while experimenting with something new. Working with a variety of materials that are neon colored will help me inspire the most reluctant student, helping to create a stress free art class. All 900-plus students in school visit my room each week and will practice using the elements of art while creating glow in the dark masterpieces. As, famous artists Pablo Picasso says "All children are artists." Creating art in the dark with materials all aglow, my young artists will be inspired to try a variety of drawing and painting techniques. I cover the principals and elements of art in every project we undertake and several will be touch upon during the glow in the dark lessons. My hope is that everyone will feel proud and successful during this lesson, because... who can deny the awesomeness of neon and glow in the dark colors?
