My students come from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Many do not have access to a computer at home. We are in the age of technology and digital literacy is a must. Throughout the year, my students will have a variety of computer based English projects. There aren't enough digital resources for each teacher to have their own classroom set of laptops. So this donation would help my students go farther than their own imagination can take them. I have heard one of my students say, "I'm used to getting bad grades, everyone knows this." I wish to change this rhetoric. I want my classroom to foster hope and literacy.
