My students do not have the opportunity to use a variety of art material to draw or color with. They have limited resources, even at school due to budgeting. Students will use oil pastels and water color to create an abstract animal collage. They will learn to use different mediums from painting to using oil pastels to create their own animal masterpiece. They will first use water color to paint freely and abstractly on paper. They will also paint using tempera paint and use crayon to create the same abstract pieces. When all mediums have been used, students will use oil pastels to create the face of the animal college to make their animal appear realistic.
