We have a cold hard concrete floor in our room. I would like to give my students an area where they can stretch out and read, study, practice Mindfulness and connect with each other. I have a small couch that I will put this in front of so that they can circle up an communicate with each other in a sacred (non religious) space. Many of the students come from unhealthy homes, this area gives them a safe, comfortable place to feel at home within the school. This will also help to create ownership of the classroom and their learning.
