We spend most of our day on the rug building our community, listening to stories, learning math, and getting hands on with science. As a kindergarten classroom, the rug area is the center of our classroom where we do most of our learning. A new rug will provide each student their own place to sit during read alouds and circle time. Our rug is a plain blue rug with visual spots for students. In years past I have used duct tape to create lines for the students, but the duct tape is peeling and torn. The rug us torn and tattered and always looks dirty.
