My students use these calculators and stop watches every day in my classroom. Too often these items end up worn and no longer usable. They will instead use their cell phones as a timer or calculator but end up with a significant distraction in their hands. Occasionally, we use websites on the Chromebook to show simulations that are difficult to show in the classroom. On these days, headphones are essential. By replacing our worn out calculators, headphones and stop watches, I am hoping to keep them focused on their activities. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not the multitude of notifications that arise.
