The boombox and cushion materials will be used to set up an area in my classroom where students can calm down and manage emotions. When students are able to work through their emotions they are better able to focus on academics. When students need time to calm down, they will have a variety of materials to select from so they can choose what works best for them. These materials will address all 5 senses so my student will be able to sample which will help them at that time. The goal is to have the students focused and ready to learn. Not only will my Peace Corner reduce incidences of negative behavior but it will improve academic achievement.

About my class
