Transitioning away from a traditional classroom setting is something that I have been pondering about for some time now, but I have always been hesitant about it. The ambiguity of results, of where the furniture will come from, what will my students do with the freedom of choosing where to sit, and most importantly, with whom to sit. All of that was put to rest when I decided to work summer school with the group that I will get in just a few days. Their high energy and eagerness to learn has led me to unequivocally believe that it's time to trust my students and their choices. Flexible seating will provide the opportunity for my students to take ownership of their own learning, all while having a comfortable way to explore their love for reading.
