My student have low reading scores according to state standardize test. What I notice is that they don't have the love to read. What I like to do is create a warm, nurturing reading space in our common area. A space that is just for our fifth graders. I like to add comfortable chairs, pillows and books for borrowing. I want to offer incentive for reading daily. "Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are." –Mason Cooley I want to create an atmosphere that is comforting and inviting. When children read they become fluent, When they become fluent they are able to comprehend.
