The fifth grade teachers and I try to find ways to approach all students in a way that will help them learn so that they can be successful students. Students need engaging ways to learn how to read, comprehend information from a variety of genres, and expand their vocabulary. With your help, I can give my students a wide variety of literature to introduce and reinforce fifth grade reading skills. My plan is to use these books to introduce difficult reading skills through engaging story lines before moving on to more complex texts that may seem overwhelming to struggling readers. These books will also expose my fifth graders to various genres and authors that they may not have known.
