In my class I have students that use wheelchairs and students that can walk. These desks will give me the ability to provide an individual learning space that can be adapted to the various needs of all my students. Some students are not able to sit at a traditional desk for long periods of time. The desks that I am requesting will give students the ability to adjust their positions without disrupting classroom instruction and flow. As a special education teacher of twenty plus years I have personally witnessed the benefits that these individual learning spaces provide to the students.
