"Of the 20 fastest growing careers, 15 of them require a background in math and science." -National Math and Science Initiative. For this reason, I want to expose my students to STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities in our classroom. The STEM learning bins and storage cart will provide my students with not only hands-on materials, but also the opportunity to work collaboratively. My students will be challenged to think critically as they develop problem-solving skills which are very important for the 21st century learner. These learning bins, including Marble Run and K'NEX materials, will challenge the most advanced students by allowing them to create and use their imagination.
