Our class uses computers as a vital tool in all subject areas, however, we do not have enough computers to effectively travel the world to learn about different cultures. Currently, we have to schedule in advance a limited number of computers available, within a set time. Having more computers allows students to utilize more research time on their research projects of their countries culture. Greater availability of technology provides for more engaging activities for students, as well as allowing for the creation of more individualized and flexible lessons. Working on computers fosters collaboration between students, and between the student and myself as students work together on projects. I often find student leaders emerge who really enjoy computers and can help others, which is useful to classmates and the teacher.
