I have a great class of 4th graders! I try to help make learning fun by incorporating games and hands-on activities, especially when it comes to math. Every child learns differently; some are fine with figuring out math equations with a pencil and paper, while others need a more hands-on approach. This is where the math manipulatives and games that I am requesting come in. Being able to touch and visualize takes learning to a whole new level. I feel that hands-on activities increase understanding and help students remember what is being taught. If you ask a child what they did at school that day, they’re probably not going to mention the worksheet of addition equations, but they will remember rolling dice and coming up with equations to solve. Not to mention they have a lot more fun and enjoy coming to school!
