When incorporating Scholastic News into the classroom it allows students to succeed through engaging topics, age-appropriate materials, differentiated reading levels, as well as adding technology by the use of videos and games. Each student will get their own magazine each month where they can read it independently, in a small group or a whole class. Magazines can be sent home too which will increase family engagement. Scholastic News brings real world situations and events to life! It has many photographs as well as activities to keep students engaged and eager to learn more. The magazines are also aligned with the Common Core Standards, Common Core State Standards (CCSS), National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies (NCSS) C3 Framework for Social Studies, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the National Health Education Standards.
