Help Us Stress Less! I need to create a space in our school for teachers to unwind during their planning periods. Studies have shown that decreasing stress levels lead to a more productive and happy work environment. This is phase two of a project that has already been started. The ball is rolling and the room preparation has begun, but the task is large and we can use all the help we can get! By creating a teacher wellness room for our middle school we hope to facilitate an environment of peace and tranquility. Making happy, healthy teachers leads to happy, healthy children which could lead to happier parents as well. We need a space where teachers can step out of a hectic work space and into one of serenity. This room will be available to all levels of staff, not just our teachers. Everyone will be welcome! We also envision furthering our staff wellness with yoga and meditation classes (ex. The request for yoga mats!) which could also be held in this space. It would be amazing to destress during the day but also provide essential strategies for long term care and wellness.
