In first grade our goal for all our students is to become fluent readers; independent readers that understand what they are reading. The whispering phones will benefit them tremendously with their fluency skills, they will be able to hear themselves read and be aware of their mistakes, this way they can self monitor their improvement. A variety of books will help them acquire comprehension skills and make them excited to learn about new authors and genres. The learning centers will keep them engaged while they practice different components of reading in a fun way. Being an excellent reader will help them succeed in all areas. Thank you for your support.
