Our classroom rug is an essential part of our classroom. Not only does it give us a place to gather as a classroom family, it is also essential to our learning. Our classroom rug will be placed front and center is our room. In Kindergarten so much of our learning takes place on this rug. Most of our direct instruction lessons take place here. This is also a place where students gather to listen to a story or talk about their day. During small group time, students may gather here as they work. My students deserve a bright clean rug to gather on. Our current rug is more than 10 years old and has many stains on it that the custodians have told me will not come off. A new clean rug will really brighten up our classroom community.
