Students that learn coping skills are able to manage their feelings more effectively. In my environment, I teach students to use tools when they are frustrated, angry, sad or other emotions that take over their little bodies. The more they learn to use these skills and strategies, the more time they will be able to spend in the classroom with their academics. The materials purchased for this project such as stools, stability rings, carpets, etc. will provide a calm environment for these students. It will give them a safe place to think and practice real-life situations. ALL students need a safe person at school and I will be that person at my school. These materials will help students feel calm, safe, and relaxed.
